Making Scripture your own
Last month, my husband and I met a young girl in the interior of Sarawak who holds the AVB Bible close to her heart.
This young girl engaged deeply with the Bible, not merely reading, but meditating on the verses she reads. She made extensive notes, highlighted verses with different colours, and thoughtfully marked passages that spoke to her. Each annotation reflected her understanding of how these Scriptures applied to her life.
A powerful shift
We were impressed by her simple yet intentional engagement with the Scripture. Every note she wrote added another layer of personal connection with the Bible. The colours weren’t just decorative, but they transformed verses into insights that resonated with her heart.
Her AVB Bible, worn from a few years of faithful use, stands as a testament of her quest to understand the Scripture. She is moving from passive listening to active learning, a powerful shift that deepens faith and understanding.

Our prayer for a new generation
We hope to see a new generation engage with Scripture in this way, reading the AVB Bible passionately, and applying the Word of God in their lives.
